What I Trade

I have two accounts that I trade in, one is a ‘taxable’ account and all gains in it will be taxed as capital gains or interest/dividends. In this account I trade, almost exclusively, the ETF of the S&P 500 called the SPY. The options in this ETF are VERY liquid and there are two expirations each week, one on Wednesday and the other on Friday.

In my trading retirement account, which I call my speculative account I trade on a variety of names that are relatively volatile and weighted to technology. I may make anywhere from 10 to 50 trades a day in this account. Almost all are spreads which means every time I buy and option, I sell an option.

I am trying now to get this list down to 20, right now it is 27. I am not net long all of these names, for instance I am primarily trading puts in the TLT as I anticipate interest rates to rise.
